The Resurrection Of The Tamagotchis

Let me take you back in time! Back when digital pets were all the rage, and you couldn't wait for school to finish so you can run back home to play with them.
I visited my parents and managed to find all of my childhood tamagotchis! And amazingly enough, they still work! I quickly realized that having three is too much, so I took out the batteries from two of them, and started playing. Meet Nisse, my first tamagotchi in at least 12 years!

Adulthood! I treated it well, apparently

I think it's brushing its teeth? LOL

So cute!

The day after the baby was born I managed to forget it at work. I was so scared they would die!
When I came back this morning, I ran in and found the baby crying, ready to be named. I assume Nisse had left it only minutes before I came in. I didn't get to say goodbye! :(
Since the baby had managed to defy death, I named him Mort. He's been pestering me all day at work! Luckily it got better once an hour had passed and he turned into a toddler.

He didn't only defy death, but also gravity!

Haha, I'm having so much fun. So much childhood nostalgia! I think the ones I own are the Connection V1, V2 and V3 (correct me if I'm wrong). They came out in 04-05, so I was 10-11 years old at the time. I bought all of them in Hong Kong. I don't remember how long I played with them, but I assume that by the time I turned 13 I was over them. But I'm really glad they were still at my parents' house and that they still work! I'm pretty amazed by that, haha. Old stuff are the best! I also still have and use my Discman and iPod Classic, so there you go!

Did you have a Tamagotchi as a kid?

  1. Hehehehehe, this is awesome. I'm about 9 years older than you, so Tamagotchis and Giga Pets were almost after my time. I did have a really cool one, though - it was one of the little green Toy Story aliens! Fun times.
